Why I keep games from six different genres installed
For a while my phone was just puzzle games. They're perfect for mobile, easy to start, easy to stop, but after a dozen of them they blur together into one endless matching session.
The fix was variety. Now I keep a casual game, an RPG, a strategy game, a racer, an adventure and a sim, and my mood picks the one I open. Tired brain gets the casual game, restless evening gets the racer.
It also makes me a better reviewer, honestly. Jumping between genres resets your expectations and stops you grading everything against the same template. A great adventure and a great strategy game succeed for totally different reasons.
There's a practical side too. Different genres stress the phone differently, so I always have something light for when the battery is low and something meaty for when it's full.
Try it. Clear out three near-identical games and replace them with something from a genre you usually skip. The variety alone makes the whole phone feel more alive.
